Three days after opening the January portion of the schedule with a lopsided 98-40 victory at Cairn University, the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s basketball team once again came painstakingly close to reaching the century mark when the Seahawks toppled visiting Penn State Abington 98-44 in another one-sided United East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

St. Mary’s College (10-5 overall, 4-0 in the UEC) and Penn State Abington were virtually inseparable through the first quarter and the opening stages of the second. But the Seahawks began to put some distance between themselves and the Lions.
