The Villages of Steeplechase held their Neighborhood Event at the Residents Club on Sunday, treating attendees to a barbecue meal and cold drinks on a warm spring afternoon. The gathering was made possible by a $500 grant from the Beautification commission handed out at a recent La Plata work session. Mayor Jeannine James and Councilwoman Emily Mudd-Hendricks and her family were in attendance, as well as a few dozen other citizens. La Plata Police Department officers were on hand and members of the Explorers program ran the shaved ice machine.
